Sacco System Australia, a leader in innovative probiotic and postbiotic solutions, is proud to announce that L. rhamnosus CRL 1505 HI (heat-inactivated) and Lactobacillus acidophilus LA1 HI (heat-inactivated) have been assessed by FSANZ (Food Standards Australia and New Zealand), and have received positive recommendations for inclusion in the ANZ food system.
The assessment concluded that L. rhamnosus CRL 1505 H1 (heat-inactivated) and Lactobacillus acidophilus LA1 H1 (heat-inactivated) meet the definition of non-traditional food, under the novel food provisions in the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code (the Code).
Moreover, following a preliminary hazard identification process, FSANZ determined that no assessment of public health and safety considerations is required for either product and that no safety concerns exist regarding their use in food products.
These findings reinforce the safety profile of both postbiotics for use in food products, clearing the way for innovative applications in the ANZ food industry.
A Commitment to Innovation and Safety
„We are delighted by FSANZ’s positive recommendations. This milestone highlights our dedication to developing postbiotic solutions that are both safe and innovative, paving the way for advanced food and health products in the ANZ region.„, said John Goebel Vice President, Strategic Development, Microbiome B.U. & Chief Executive Officer, Asia Pacific Region for Sacco System.
The heat-inactivated postbiotics, L. rhamnosus CRL 1505 H1 and Lactobacillus acidophilus LA1 H1, represent a new frontier in microbiome science, offering robust stability and versatility in functional food formulations.
